GOODBYE GRANDMA O’BRYAN

December 06, 2008 @ 3:50 AM - Mike O

My grandma was a very sweet woman.  She treated everyone with the upmost respect and kindness and nurturing others was whole heartedly in her nature.  She was born Mary Jean Kramer on August 15, 1924 in Detroit and in her early adult life was a nurse.  When she married my late grandfather, William O’Bryan, in 1947 she became a stay at home mom and raised eight children, including my dad.  In the 27 years I knew her, I never heard her raise her voice to a single person.  She was always calm, polite and had the most wonderful smile on her face.  She was simply one of the kindest people I have ever known.  After my grandfathers passing in 2004, my Grandma slowly succombed to dimensia, and many of her memories were lost.  Even though at times she didn’t remember who I was, she was still happy that I was simply there, and still had that smile on her face.  For as peaceful of a woman she was, her passing was just as peaceful.  She passed away this past Sunday, November 30th in her sleep of natural causes.  She will be missed.
