QUICK TALK 49# SCOTT EDGWORTH
November 14, 2009 @ 12:29 AM - Paulo's Portugese
Trails are his favourite kind of spot, but he loves to ride new spots.
NAME: Scott Edgworth
AGE: 29 years young
HOMETOWN: Snowshill
SPONSORS/HELP: Fit bikes/4down, Stay Strong Apparel, Vans, Segment and Profile
YEARS RIDING: 22
1. INSPIRATIONS: My family and friends and happiness
2. FAVOURITE SPOT TO RIDE?: I mainly enjoy riding trails and love to ride new spots. My favourite 2 would have to be Duckswich trails and Chertsey
3. BIKE RIDING HEROES?: There’s several riders that I’ve liked over the years. In my early years it was racers like Dale Holmes, Neal Wood and Thomas Allier and then there were the Forte bro’s, DTR lads, Mike Aitken, Bas Keep, Darrin Read and the list goes on but since day one the 2 riders that have really influenced me have been Stephen Murray and Brian Foster.
4. FAVOURITE VIDEO PART?: Brian Iaroci seek and destroy, Darrin Read building the underground and all of BF’s sections! American muscle, soil, Fitlife etc
5. WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT BMX? Being able to travel to interesting places with like minded people, it can give you a sense of achievement/fulfillment but I think what sums it up best for me is - feeling good on your bike whilst going through a rad set of trails, probably in a train with a bunch of your mates
6. WHAT’S THE WORST THING ABOUT BMX?: I find it quite easy to avoid the bad things and I think in general bmx is just amazing. I kind of feel like bmx could benefit from seeing how it has evolved itself instead of following skateboarding trends. I can’t relate to many of the newer trends (2mph, brakeless, footjamming, new-era, hiphop bollox) but thats probably more of sign that I’m getting old than anything else!
7. YOUR BIGGEST FEAR IS: Losing a loved one
8. MUST HAVE GADGETS: I’m not big on gadgets - i guess a camera cos they capture memories
9. OTHER THINGS TO DO BESIDES BMX?: Spending time with family and friends, enjoying the countryside, golf, football, drinking with mates
10. THE LAST BOOK YOU READ WAS?: I’m currently reading Chris Evans’s autobiography - he seems like a pretty rad dude with a possitive attitude. If your reading this on the dig site Chris fancy a knock and a drink at the 19th?
11. THANKS?: So many people have helped me along my bmx journey - firstly all 4 of my parents! Char, All of my past sponsors, people I ride with, the Aliano family for so much and finally all the people and brands that still support me I truly am grateful - All the guys at 4down, Stay strong apparel, Jon at Vans, Gunner at Segment and Sam at Profile. Ta very much.
