  • CHICAGO DEW TOUR DAY 1

  • posted 8 months, 2 weeks ago
  • This is the view from where the contest is being held. In the heart of Chicago at Grant Park. It’s incredible to watch BMX with this as the back drop.

Yesterday was day one of the Dew Tour stop in Chicago. This is a unique contest for the Dew Tour because of three things. This is the first time the Dew Tour has come to Chicago, it’s the first BMX only stop in its history, and also the first time they are doing the street contest. The first day of the stop consisted of Dirt Open Qualifiers, Park Open Qualifiers, and the first day to film for the Street guys. It was very sunny and very hot all day with a small break from a quick rain shower towards the end of the day. Here are a few photos and words to go along with it.

While sitting in the stands taking a break from everything, I noticed the Dig tattoo on the back of this kids arm. Zack Newman (spelling?) repping hard!

Fuzzy Hall and his team making a few small adjustments before Open Qualifiers started up.

The view from the top of the roll-in to the dirt course. About an hour after this photo was taken, some people from Dew Tour were letting all the photographers know we couldn’t be in any of the towers. Hopefully this doesn’t get me into any trouble

I forgot the names of basically everyone yesterday, so I apologize. A big tuck no hander over the second jump in the set.

Catfish is one of the busiest guys at the Dew Tour stops. He can be found filming for Fuel TV, announcing the events, or shining people in the eyes with laser pointers at any given point in time during the day.

There were over 50 people competeing for the 13 spots for prelims today, yesterday. This was just a quick snap of Harry Main blasting the quarter. There was a backflip barspin to barhop done yesterday on the park from a unknown rider who made it to the prelims today also.

Today there will be the Vert Open Qualifier, Park and Dirt prelims, the second day of Street filming, Dirt Finals, and a Lupe Fiasco concert to finish off the day. Expect some photos and words tomorrow!
