How are you?
I’m doing awesome, we just finished the second annual Wicked Jam at Rye Airfield and it was amazing. A little cold too unfortunately in the northeast.
So your big news is being added to the Levi’s team. How did that all come about, and what are you looking forward to the most about being on the team?
Morgan Wade was asked to pick another flow rider for the Levi’s team and I was his choice I guess. The funny part is, Morgan actually asked me when they were first putting the team together but I said no since I was riding for Little Devil at the time and getting paid by them. I was trying to “keep it real” while the Levi’s team traveled the world to film their first video. Morgan has been rubbing it in my face since the day I turned it down. In my defense he certainly didn’t tell me how many awesome things Levi’s would end up doing for all the riders. It’s all good now though and I’m really happy to have a another opportunity with everyone from Levi’s.
How are things going with the rest of the sponsors? Any big news you can tell us about?
All the other sponsors are awesome. We just had our DK team party/hangout week in Ohio and discussed everything we want to do this next year. Mostly a lot of fun trips and good times coming. Derek has been talking about possibly a team video or a trip video but either way I just want to hang out with everyone. I’ve never been on a trip with Van so that would be crazy just from looking up to him for so long.
What else is new in your life?
There’s a new mini ramp at Rye Airfield right now and I’m loving it.
Where are you right now?
I’m in a hotel in NH with all the riders from the Wicked Jam and it’s kind of wierd being in a hotel at home.
Where are you off to next?
I’m going to spend some time at home until New Years for now unless someone tries to convince me to go on a trip which might happen. I’m seriously never home these days so it’s good to relax with friends and family for a bit especially during the holidays.
Now that winter has set in, are you going to have some time to hang out or will it be a fairly productive winter for you?
I would really like to just go hang with friends and try to film some more things I’m psyched on. I’m gonna try and hit Austin, Arizona, and Cali this winter. Zak Earley and I went on 6 week trip last winter to Austin and it was amazing.
What does your average daily routine consist of these days?
I wake up and depending on my location I’m probably looking for the nearest gas station for an energy drink. I love caffeine and sugar. Then probably hang out with friends or run errands until its time to go ride. It all depends where you are though. If I’m home in the winter the park doesn’t open til 3 so anytime after that. Food, ride, fun, hangout, food. Clint Reynolds makes sure I’m ready to get crazy at noon though. Then home for a movie with the babe or out with friends.
Tell us something people might not know about you.
I am the pickiest eater in the world besides maybe one or two other people I know. I’m adventurous everywhere else in life besides food. I’m not a huge fan of trying new things when it comes to food but Catfish and Kachinsky are trying to change that especially when we go to China.
What does 2010 have in store for you?
I honestly have no idea. If you would’ve told me the places I’d travel to in 2009 I would say you’re crazy. There’s so many opportunities out there and you never know what the next phone call or email will lead you but I’m certainly ready for anything.
Any plans for tonight?
All my friends are in town and it’s their last night so I’m sure we’ll get into something fun. There has already been a salt and pepper war between Catfish and Anthony in a restaurant earlier so I’m sure it’s only going to get better. I’m talking handfuls of salt being thrown and pepper in peoples eyes. haha good times.
