  • RUBEN’S BIG HIP PART 2

  • posted 10 months, 1 week ago
  • Guiri from Fly Bikes sent over some more photos of Ruben’s big hip. You can see more from that in DIG issue 70.

Ruben first started to build the take off, you can see an olive tree behind where he built the landing against the tree. It was tough to figure out where to build it and how it needed to be oriented… we had a lot of discussions to make things right. In some of the pictures there is a step up landing that makes you think that it is the mega hip take off, but it’s not and the take off lies a few more metres below that landing… if you look at all the pictures you realize that the jump is bigger than you think. We also had to cut many pointy branches from the olive tree that were very dangerous, and also if you have a close look at the landing dirt it’s actually rubbish and trash instead of dirt. Many construction trucks go there to illegally throw their out remains so they don’t have to drive far to the recycling centre and pay a small tax… that is why nobody cares about the trails and all the jumps have broken glasses, pieces of metal and other shit around.
