Describe your personal bike setup:
Simple, solid and strong where it needs to be. It suits me well.
Describe the contents of your personal bike tool bag:
Spoke wrench, allen keys, assorted wrenches and a chain breaker. I have a bunch of tools in my car, but when I cruise around the city, I don’t bring anything.
What part do you wear through the quickest?
Tires and grips are pretty disposable, it sucks they’re so damn expensive. I go through pedals a lot, too, but these Integrals have lasted me quite a long time.
What part do you break most often?
There is constantly something wrong with my freecoaster, it’s really annoying. Sometimes I’ve gone a year without maintenance, but lately it’s been a total piece of shit. I’m pretty hard on headsets and seats as well.
Do you patch flat tyres or get new tubes?
I patch them. Most of my flats come from vicious desert plants’ thorns, so the holes are tiny. I’m a poor college student, too.
Which parts are you paranoid about breaking?
Right now my bars are scaring me because the crossbar is cracking. I’m not really paranoid about anything breaking otherwise.
Where do your parts go when you’re done with them?
I usually throw them away or sell them. Most often they aren’t usable when I’m done with them.
Who builds your wheels? Anything special about them?
I build them. There’s nothing special except the T-1000.
Cassette or freecoaster?
Freecoaster because I like going fast backwards.
Kevlar bead or regular bead?
It depends on the tire.
Plastic pedals or metal?
Plastic because they are light, cheap and don’t tear up my kicks.
