How long have you been shooting?
A little over 2 years or so. It’s a fairly new hobby for me.
Film or digital?
Both. I feel each one has advantages over the other, but I try to shoot with film mostly.
How many different cameras do you have? It seems like you use quite a few for your blog.
I have 6, 4 of which are film. A Minolta X-700, Yashica T, Lomo LCA, Konica C35, Panasonic DMC-LX2 and a Canon Rebel T1i.
Speaking of your blog, what is that all about? How often does it get updated? What is the link? How did you come up with the name?
Olivejuuuuice is basically my photo blog. I have a Flickr page where I put my stuff up until recently, but I just wanted something a bit more official. I wanted to have an actual site for people to check and laid out how I want it. I try to get something up everyday, or as things happen via the iPhone. The name is mostly Jim Bauer’s fault, but I had to tweak it. www.olivejuuuuice.com
You do a lot of photos outside of BMX, what are some of your favorite things to shoot outside of BMX?
Anything that catches my eye really. People, vehicles, dogs, graffiti , signs, scenery etc…
When you are shooting BMX, who is your favorite rider to shoot with?
I don’t really set out to shoot action stuff, so I can’t give you an answer there. I’m definitely more into lifestyle/portrait/detail oriented stuff when it comes to BMX related people and things. With that said, I usually end up shooting pics at Heath Pinter’s jam every year with all the rad people that show up.
Have you ever had to deal with security, cops, angry people, or anything like that for taking photos? What do you usually say to defuse the situations?
Have you seen me? Nobody would say shit to me (just kidding).
Favorite BMX photographer?
Jeff Z. Ricky Adam, Pieringer, and Dolecki’s stuff is equally enjoyable and recognizable. A lot of people shoot great stuff.
Favorite NON-BMX photographer?
There’s a lot of people shooting various styles that I like, but noone that jumps out at me as a favorite.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Im still searching for that answer.
Other than Olivejuuuice, where can people see your work? Defgrip and Odyssey?
Most of my pics will be on olivejuuuuice from now on, but I’m sure some will show up on Odyssey and Defgrip too.
You can also find many more photos of Nuno’s on his Flickr.
