  • VIDEO REVIEW: YOU GOT THAT

  • posted 1 month, 1 week ago
  • If you are somebody who stays up on the daily news and workings of BMX, then there is a pretty good chance that you have heard the talk about the new Infamy BMX video You Got That.
The video features sections from Fran Meehan, Otto Ayala, Eric Capone, Ryan Landman (who also did the majority of the filming and editing), Evan Ayala, Brendon Reith and Dan Conway with a mix featuring many others based around the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.

You Got That is primarily an all street video with a random trails clip or two in there, which I can’t say disappointed me at all. The spots seem endless and fairly untapped due to Philadelphia being so large and diverse. You can definitely count on seeing a couple man-size rails, drops and gaps in this video. The different styles of the riders also keep it entertaining as well.
My personal favorites from the video were Brendon Reith’s and Dan Conway’s parts. If you aren’t firmiliar with Brendon, you can check out this interview with him. Simply put, Brendon is an upcoming shredder that makes ice hard 180’s on a rail look easy. Dan Conway has been popping up more lately with his Orchid web videos and what not. If I had to sum Dan’s part up, I’d use any of the synonyms that go with animal, beast or savage… which are already synonyms of each other. I was really impressed with how fast Dan rides and charges big gaps and rails in his part.
Going into the video I wasn’t anticipating Let’s Get Mystical HD quality footage, which it isn’t. The video is a bunch friends who ride like champs and definitely have a lot of fun riding, minus the occasional bike toss or frame snap.  That isn’t to say that Ryan Landman didn’t do a good job of filming and editing though! It has good quality shots, music and it all flows together well.

If you are curious the sound track consists of…
    “Queen Bitch” - David Bowie
    “Hell” - Teagan and Sara
    “Gouge Away” - The Pixies
    “The Underdog” - Spoon
    “No Surprises” - Radiohead
“Always a Friend” - Alejandro Escovedo
    “DLZ” TV on the Radio
    “Head Honcho” - Gown
and “Back That Ass Up” - Juvenile
So you can get an idea of what you can expect to hear.

As of right now you can pick up the video through the InfamyBMX.com web store for $13. I’d imagine it will end up being picked up by some of the online mail-orders sooner than later as well.
Overall, the video has some real good street riding and a good vibe that gets you in the mood for some riding. It’s fairly inexpensive, and worth checking out. If I had to say I was bummed on anything it would be some bike tossing, but that’s just because I don’t party that hard. Otherwise, I’m pretty easy to please.

    Here are two trailers…
