BEN GREEN ‘ONE MORE BREW’

S&M/Nike 6.0 rider and media junkie Ben Green took some time out to answer some questions about the edit he made for the ‘One More Brew‘ video. The video will be premiered at this weekend’s Dub/Project 5 jam at Rampworx Skatepark in Liverpool, UK.

Who’s in your section?
Dan Boiski, Alex Kennedy, Boi and myself.

How long did your edit take in total to complete?
I spent just over a week editing the section.

What camera equipment and editing software did you use?
I use a Sony V1, Century Fisheye adapter and a Manfrotto 503/525 tripod. I edited in Final Cut Pro on a MacBook Pro. I also borrowed my Dad’s 2K generator and brought four 500w site lights to light up the red blocks.

Anything crazy happen whilst filming for the edit? (any drama?)
The red blocks were filmed at an abandoned airfield near my house. One night were set up as usual and had just started filming when the filth turned up. One meat wagon and two squad cars had been called to the scene because some kids were behaving suspiciously. We were all shitting it but after explaining to the fedz what we were doing they were totally cool with it and actually stayed to watch for a while.

How did you cope with the winter weather when filming?
Filming was painfully slow at some points, I remember getting only 2 clips in a week because of the snow. However, everyone pulled together and we got enough footage in the end.

Tell us a little about the setup at the end of your edit?
I decided to try and make our edit slightly different by combining a street section and some red grind blocks. The idea was to do a similar thing to Nigel Sylvesters Format web edit, although it was a lot harder to ride and film than we had first thought because of time and weather constraints.

Are you happy with how it all came out?
Yeah I was fairly happy on how it all came out and it was fun to film and edit. Some of the guys got stuff done that they had been looking at for a while and although the section is split in two I think both parts work well. I didn’t want to film a section full of bangers but instead try something new and make a section that documents the south London scene and is enjoyable to watch.

What other video projects do you have in the works?
I’m filming for the Carhartt video at the moment and also working on some Rockstar Energy Drink web edits with their new team.

Have you got any good stories from working at The Sun newspaper?
I would lose my job if I told you about some of the stuff I’ve seen and heard.

I would like to say a big thank you to Gez and all the guys who made ‘One More Brew’ happen, thanks for giving us something to focus on during the winter.
