After all the years, besides Macneil, which sponsor treated you the best? Do you miss the days where all you really had to worry about was riding?
Oakley was, and still is the best. I can’t say enough good things about them. “All you really had to worry about was riding?” I can’t believe people still think that’s how it is. If all you’re worried about is riding, you won’t last very long as a pro rider. If you want to make a living doing it, you have to worry about everything, having the right stickers on your bike, wearing the right shirts at the right times, sometimes riding when you don’t want to, making sure you don’t miss flights, doing photo shoots, getting your footage in on time, dealing with asshole TV people who don’t respect you or your sport, designing signature parts, tearing ligaments, concussions, broken bones, and the list goes on. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a dream life, and I do miss it, but it isn’t as easy as a lot of people think.

After all these years do you ever find yourself getting burned out on BMX as a whole? What do you do to keep things fresh for you?
I get burned once in a while, but then I just think about how I’m able to work every day at something I love with some of my best friends. Then I feel like a pussy for getting bummed. To keep things fresh we just work on new projects and new ideas. The Re-session tour and the cruisers have me pretty psyched these days.

What are some things you would like to accomplish in the next few years?
I’ve want to learn to build cabinets and pour cement counter tops. I want to rebuild my kitchen from scratch.
