Modifications: Cut steerer a little bit, always cut the flanges off my grips as well. I don’t change much really.
Describe your personal bike setup: I always try and have it running nice, no loose stuff or anything.
Describe the contents of your personal bike tool bag: Everything I need to take my bike apart and build it back up again, so I can fix it in most circumstances.
What part do you wear through the quickest? It used to be grips but these Season ones have lasted really well, so I don’t know, Tyres maybe?
What part do you break most often? I don’t know really as it varies, except I have bent the axles on 2 different sets of pedals this week, so probably them at the moment.
Do you patch flat tyres or get new tubes? I usually get a new tube if I’m in a rush, and patch the old one at home so I have a spare for next time
Which parts are you paranoid about breaking? I’d say forks or bars, as the consequences of failure could be unpleasant.
Where do your parts go when you’re done with them? Keep them as spares, give them back or give to a friend.
Who builds your wheels? anything special about them? Usually Jake or Neil at George Halls Bikeshop, except Ben from IMG sometimes does too, they are just normal wheels really but they both do a better job than i ever could!
Cassette or freecoaster? Cassette, I ran a freecoaster for a while last summer and it was fun, but i couldn’t handle it on faster rollbacks so I switched back again.
Kevlar bead or regular bead (tires, and why)? Just regular is fine for me.
Plastic pedals or metal? I prefer plastics, even though they still cut my shins it feels like they won’t be as sharp or do as much damage as metal, they slide better too as well as being cheaper.
