Name: Robert Morales jr.
Age: old
Location: Santa Ana, CA
How long have you been shooting?
Couple of years.
Film or digital?
Digital for convenience.
What’s your camera set-up these days?
Canon 40D (thanks Becca) and I just got a flash, a tri-pod, and I got a couple of lenses,(thanks PP).
Best thing you’ve ever shot?
A couple of shots of Van Homan in Australia while filming for STAY FIT. Wait till the vid drops to see.
Favorite rider to shoot with?
Any of the Fit team guys, they’re easy to work with and give me advice on angles and how to make it look fresh.
Dream rider to shoot with?
Mike Aitken will always be that guy.
Are you not only TM/Owner for Fit, but also the photographer? All the recent ads were shot by you right?
I’ll take credit for the TM title. To be truly good at being a TM you have to have many skills. I just try and make my skill set bigger and better every time out. I like the process of shooting and filming with the riders, it’s really satisfying when it goes well.
What do you tell security when they try to throw you out of spots for taking pics?
I usually ask for 1 more try and keep it cool, if that does not work, then the wallet comes out. Bribes work sometimes. If Dakota is in the house we usually are arguing and getting ready to throw down.
Favorite BMX photographer?
So many, heres a few JZ, Terra, Romanowski, Dolecki, Mulligan, Souney, Manu, Fudger, Rich, Carson, Big Ed, and I can remember Spike Jonze’s photos being dope also…
Any big Fit news you can tell us about? How’s the new video coming along?
STAY FIT is coming along well. The team is stacking clips and really going hard now.
